NPR Interview with Joshua Johnson
An interview with New York Times reporter Jessica Silver-Greenberg, Attorney Joseph Bernard & Counterpoint Editor Jan Semenoff
From - Counterpoint Volume 4; Issue 2 - Article 1 (November 2019)
One of the most interesting effects of the 2019 New York Times article "These Machines Can Put You in Jail. Don't Trust Them." by Stacy Cowley and Jessica Silver Greenberg, is the national media attention it received.
I started receiving requests from reporters for interviews and quotations. I participated in a panel discussion with New York Times reporter Jessica Silver Greenberg and Massachusetts attorney Joseph Bernard. The link below takes you to NPR's nation-wide show "1A" with host Joshua Johnson. It is well worth the time to listen (about 35 minutes).

Daniel Donahue, NC, USA:
I listened to the interview on 1A today. I was very interested in hearing a more elaborate response to Wayne, the North Carolina officer, who claimed that the results of all his tests were reliable. Have you ever published articles or done studies on the Intoximeters, Inc. EC/IR II? I'm a NC practitioner and find the calibration methods, inter alia, to be highly questionable.
Thanks for all your work.

From the Editor:
Daniel, as you are aware, access to breath test devices is problematic to near impossible for independent experts. I'm factory certified as a Calibration Technician and Operator of the EC/IR II breath testing device. We do have generic articles on the Calibration (Counterpoint, Volume 2, Issue 1) of breath test devices, but nothing specific to the EC/IR II. - Jan |
